I have noted their decline for sometime now. What especially caught my eye was Rand commenting on my blog. I would have thought that she would be too busy for that. This was followed up with an offer to try their paid services for a buck. That was all that I thought that it was worth.

When I tried the service my site was ranking on the first page of Google for over 30 keyword phrases. Their analysis of my site gave it a 15% rating with little hope of ranking well anytime soon. Wow, that was way off.

Their link partner tool simply provided what appeared to be Google search results. I was really saddened by this experience. I have recommended their sites to dozens at seminars that I ran as a trusted resource. I have since stopped recommending their tools.

If they are going to focus on software they will need to vastly improve the quality to succeed. While Rand very knowledge his software is extremely weak.

I'm so sad that SEOMOZ will do that. They are one of the most established online consulting sites. I think they should consider it again before quitting.
