Good post. I have checked the URL mentioned here. Yes, lengthy URLs do have a negative impact on the site rankings. I noticed this change recently in hubpages too as they are shortening the URLs. This has started after they shifted each user into a sub domain and may be the length was getting more and more. People might think that having more and more words in the URL might get their site listed for more keywords. However, this is not true. I totally agree with this post.
