As I predicted yesterday, Google have released Google Instant, their live search as you type interface.

But what does this mean for SEO?

For a starters Google Instant isn’t active on the main Google home pages google.co.uk/.com etc  which means that for First Search customers, thing are pretty much as normal.

Where things start to get interesting is for any subsequent searches as this is where Google Instant is active.

Try a number of searches for products – you will see that Google Suggest kicks in as usual and the organic listings update as you type… pretty cool so far. However as this takes away the need to browse the listings I predict that Google Suggest will play an ever more important role in search. This means that correct punctuation i.e “women’s shoes” – not “womens shoes” and the use of defining singular or plural term as an extension to your primary keyword.

Ultimately the Google Analytics data will be what drive SEO… lets just see if I’m right over the Christmas period!
