Just been in the middle of some frantic research with Jason our MD as to the effectiveness of exact match domain names in the SEO process and our findings are simply gob-smacking!
We researched a number of industries from Yoga to Personal Injury Claims looking for exact match domains that are ranking and comparing their link metrics to those of the websites around.
On average, an exact match domain had less than 10% of the unique inbound links of the domains around them. That basically indicates that (all things being equal and based on this being conclusions back tracked from effect) these domains should be ranking 10 times quicker… or based on your current budgets, you should be able to achieve 10 times the results for the same effort.
Im going to do some more digging and have already snapped up some choice domains just in case ;)
OK so i got the order wrong in the example (doh) it does however clearly show that exact match domains i.e. buygold.co.uk needs a fraction of the links of the others and ranks #2 for that term. Granted, it may not rank for other terms but it will mop up for this high volume search!

yes its absolutely right and it is very important thing because when you have keyword in your domain the obviously you are getting advantage but the point is that how should you can cash your advantage.
I’ve been playing with a couple exact matches and I’ve found that is the search volume is high, its hard to get listed. With my personal domain, I rose to #1 pretty quickly. But not many people search my name. With other domains that had existing monthly searches well into the millions, it seems that the sites already ranked are really hard to get near.
