Help Firefox Break Records with Download Day

May 29, 2008, by Mark Rushworth No comments yet

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

We all know that Internet Explorer is the devils own child and without a doubt one of the worst web browsers on the planet. So lets bring some additional publicity to FireFox, a champion of easy to use, feature-full, secure and fast web browser by joining in on Download Day.

Download Day is a campaign where you pledge to download the new version of FireFox (Version 3) later in June this year and on that day, you visit the site and by downloading the app, you become one of the many people to propel FireFox into the record books as software the most downloads in one day.

Woopra Analytics

May 21, 2008, by Mark Rushworth No comments yet

With speculation that Google is using your Analytics, AdWords and Webmaster Tools data against you, and with the aweful solutions proposed by Microsoft and Yahoo, its great to see new, independent solutions for tracking your visitors. One such start-up is Woopra, a rich reporting tool currently in Beta that sports some very interesting and unique features.

Woopra features some unique functionality including:

  • Live stats (unlike Analytics which is a day behind)
  • Integrated ‘Click to Chat’ with website visitors
  • Real-time notifications

…and loads more.

The Great Istockphoto.com Rip Off

May 14, 2008, by Mark Rushworth No comments yet

So I decided to add some more credit to my istockphoto.com account and noticed the prices were in UK Pounds giving me 26 credits for £20… not a bad deal some might say however I thought that i’d investigate the prices of these credits in other currencies.

I noticed that for the princely sum of $33 I could get the same 26 credits…

…But wait a minute. $33 != £20 ?

So a quick check on XE.com discovered that if I paid in USD the fee would only be £16.97… a saving of 10% for just a few clicks of the mouse!

So the next time you buy from Istockphoto.com remember to check currency conversion using a service like XE.com as you could be saving a whole lot more!
